û | 1.1 b1531 | 06/07/2007 09:46:48 | Various | Various | To-Do | Hi all, I am using 1530 now and I think at this moment (5 July 2007) this is the latest. I have some observations and wannahaves (as always). 1. I noticed in build 1527 and before that sometimes the RX after TX is much softer. I will increase the RX (by the volume knob on the radio or in the program). Suddenly it will be louder again. More people who noticed this or am I the only one. Is it my computer? 2. Sometimes I would like that the station bars in the SuperBrowser windows would not look a like eachother. Some difference between them would be nice to make the screen easier to follow. Like the logbook. We have grey and white lines there. Anyone with a solution in this area? 3. Also it would be handy if we not only could see in the SuperBrowser if we worked that station, but also if we already worked that entity. Very handy for hunting entities. How about that? 4. I still would like the same way to configure the colours of the WaterFall like we had in PSK31 DeLuxe. 5. I do not know if this is already the case, but I would like that every mode has it's own faves. Or does this not make any sense? 6. I have a lot of macros. Is it possible to make dropdowns of the groups of macros in the RX/TX window? So we can select a macro from the group? Saves space there and works easy. So we can put more macros there in less space. 7. Still would like to define my own macro groups. 8. I would like some new tags to use. IMD, S/N and the difference between my locator and the locator of the other station. 9. When I put a callsign in Add log entry in the SuperBrowser and I press enter then nothing happens. Is this supposed to be? I would suspect that the program contacted www.qrz.com to obtain any information if the call is not present in the logbook database or if it is present in the logbook database display the info. Now I have to switch to the RX/TX window to do the same. 10. I still would like to be able to add the QSO to the logbook entry. The same with sound. It would be an enhancement to add sound and/or text to the logbook QSO record. 11. When adding a record to the logbook while transmitting the signal stops for a brief moment while saving. Maybe it is possible that when someone tries to save the record this action by the program is postponed till the TX has ended? |
û | 1.1 b1505 | 10/06/2007 15:11:20 | TX Window | Slash Zero | To-Do | Add slash zero support to the TX window. |
û | 1.1 b1500 | 05/06/2007 09:21:18 | Repeat | Sensitive | To-Do | Make the Repeat function sensitive for opening squelch. So does the Repeat of the call stops. |
û | 1.1 b1500 | 05/06/2007 09:20:42 | Tags | Sensitive | To-Do | To make a tag sensitive by the local timezone. e.g one tag for "good morning" and "good afternoon". |
û | 1.1 b1500 | 05/06/2007 09:20:03 | Logbook | Copy Text | To-Do | It sure would be handy to be able to be able to copy (Ctrl C) from the QSO text and paste (Ctrl V) into the logbook fields (QTH or Remarks, for example). I tried to past a web link that was sent in a QSO into the remarks field and could not do it. Oddly enough, I was able to Ctrl C copy from the RX window and Ctrl V paste it into the TX window, even though when I highlighted the text, the "Edit" pull-down did not list copy or paste as an option. |
û | 1.1 b1500 | 05/06/2007 09:19:37 | Logbook | QSO Text | To-Do | Hey Simon, has the "auto-save of full text of QSO" been done? I'm looking around and can't seen any files that contain QSO text like the ones that PSK31 made --- am I not looking in the right place or are they not being generated to begin with (yet)? If it's simply a case of the feature not having been added (yet) then that's fine, I know you're a busy guy and not getting compensated for this anyway. Having the qso's auto-saved is such a cool feature --- several times I've had people dispute a qso I've logged on eqsl, saying it didn't happen, and it's so cool reading their responses when I email them a full-text copy of the qso, heheh. :) |
û | 1.1 b1500 | 05/06/2007 09:17:30 | SuperBrowser | QSO | To-Do | When in the Super Browser and you double click on a transmission, it takes you to a QSO window, I would like to see my radio tuned and Centered to 1Khz at that point without fiddling with the Center Option. Or are you supposed to TX off-frequency. |
û | 1.1 b1500 | 05/06/2007 09:17:06 | RTTY | Postamble | To-Do | User-definable postamble. |
û | 1.1 b1500 | 05/06/2007 09:15:27 | RTTY | Unshift | To-Do | Add Unshift on Space |
û | 1.1 b1500 | 05/06/2007 09:14:51 | TX | Autosend | To-Do | Ok...new glitch. Clicking Auto or pressing F2 w/nothing in TX window also sends a brief TX pulse. Send (F1) w/nothing in TX window needs to be left unchanged, as that's useful in tuning/setting up audio levels. |
û | 1.1 b1500 | 05/06/2007 09:14:02 | Favourites | Modes | To-Do | Add Mode to Favourites. |
û | 1.1 b1500 | 05/06/2007 09:13:06 | Logbook | Name | To-Do | I did not see this question discussed yet. It applies to the way QRZ.COM returns data to the logbook. If one chooses to return first name only (Options/QRZ.com), one looses an important part of the information, the name. Unless I miss something. If I am right, could you return the full name for the logbook, save the first in memory and use it in the course of the QSO ? Clear the memory after adding the QSO. |
û | 1.0 b1485 | 21/05/2007 08:52:29 | QSO Window | Copy from RX Text | To-Do | Copy selected RX text with Ctrl+C |
M | 1.0 b1478 | 14/05/2007 08:54:13 | Slash 0 | Bug | Bug! | The cosmetic item to which I refer is in the superbrowser window. When a station with a Ø (zero) is identified in the decoded stream and highlighted to the left, the zero in the prefix is displayed not with a slash Ø as in the stream, I.E. GØNE looks like GONE. |
û | 1.0 b1466 | 02/05/2007 08:49:31 | Printing | QSOs | To-Do | Add option to print a QSO. |
û | 1.0 b1460 | 26/04/2007 20:05:28 | Logbook | Mode | To-Do | Optionally uses non-ADIF modes. |
û | 1.0 b1460 | 26/04/2007 20:04:25 | Tags | Special | To-Do | Some special tags do not work if at the start of the macro, for example <repeat>. |
û | 1.0 b1457 | 23/04/2007 10:59:14 | Waterfall | Speed | To-Do | Is it possible to change the speed of the waterfall ? I love to have a more speedy waterfall :D Can we adjust that one somewhere in the setting so its has more speed I did not found the settings yet , but maybe they are somewhere in the DM780 . |
û | 1.0 b1457 | 23/04/2007 10:03:45 | Logbook | ADI | To-Do | Create ADI files as in PSK31 Deluxe |
û | 1.0 b1457 | 23/04/2007 10:03:05 | QSO | Worked Texts | To-Do | I am an avid Dxer, always looking for new Prefixes / Countrys. The add log entry tells me if I have worked the station before but NOT if I had worked the Country before. This info can be easily found in the main logbook but takes a little time to do. I used MIXW 2 up until DM780 was released publicly. Mixw lets you have "not worked" countries call letters come up in the RX window any color you choose. I use RED for not worked country call letters and green for worked country call letters. If this is too hard to do , a simple noification in the add log entry box would work - something like NEW COUNTRY.. |
û | 1.0 b1457 | 23/04/2007 10:00:45 | Logbook | Worked Status | To-Do | The add log entry tells me if I have worked the station before in all band and mode. I think is better if he tell me only if i worked the station in the band and mode in use. |
û | 1.0 b1457 | 23/04/2007 09:58:09 | eQSL.cc | Uploads | To-Do | Thank you, Simon for build 1451, giving me the opportunity to upload a single log entry to eqslCC. However I have noticed something strange that I can't explain. See screenshot of uploading a single entry in HRDAttachment 650 (http://forums.ham-radio.ch/attachment.php?attachmentid=650). All goes well, including the warning that its a duplicate, which is correct. See second shot of uploading the same entry in DM780 Attachment 651 (http://forums.ham-radio.ch/attachment.php?attachmentid=651)(I use one logbook). The warning message doesn't show up and to me it looks like nothing uploaded! Can anyone explain this? Greetings PA3AKF Karel |
û | 1.0 b1457 | 23/04/2007 09:56:54 | Logbook | Frequency | To-Do | 1) The frequency that is to be entered into the log should be the "carrier frequency" of the signal as shown on the "waterfall" display, when the waterfall display is showing RF frequency (not the audio frequency), instead of the what currently goes into the log - the frequency that the radio is tuned to 2) The when operating PSK31 mode, the frequency that the program takes you to when you click on a PSK31 post on the cluster should be not the be frequency on the post, but the frequency that will put the frequency on the post in the center of the receiver sound card's passband, using the RF frequency display on the waterfall as in #1 above. I think that Number 1 should be fairly easy to do, but I am guessing that Number 2 might be a bit more difficult, because the DX Cluster program does not know you are working PSK-31 instead of SSB or CW, and the frequency setting is not done from within DM780 and might be non-trivial. Comes down to the ever-present discussion about clicking on a post and knowing a default mode based on the mode of operation, frequency and Zone. |
û | 1.0 b1457 | 23/04/2007 09:29:07 | User Guide | Logbook | To-Do | Explain that there is no QSO limit in the database, just in the display. |
û | 1.0 b1450 | 16/04/2007 09:16:38 | Logbook | ALE | To-Do | A word of Caution, when I use the DM780 Add Log Entry, it goes into the log everytime but it does not update any of the CQ or ITU zone fields automatically as happens when I use the HRD ALE entry screens. Rod VE3ISO |
û | 1.0 b1445 | 11/04/2007 14:39:25 | Logbook | Countries file | To-Do | DN3UL is in Germany. DO = German Novice DQ = Special Calls |
ü | 1.0 b1443 | 09/04/2007 19:17:26 | Logbook | eQSL.cc Uploads | Done | Added support for eQSL.cc interactive uploads. |
û | 1.0 b1443 | 09/04/2007 19:17:01 | Logbook | UTC/Local | To-Do | Add complete support for UTC/Local. |
û | 1.0 b1441 | 07/04/2007 06:45:48 | Logbook | Layout | To-Do | Get the mini log book in DM780 to display the same information as in the main log book. |
ü | 1.0 b1440 | 06/04/2007 18:43:33 | Tags | New | Done | Add tags to show UTC time in HHMM and to reset the logbook window. |
û | 1.0 b1439 | 05/04/2007 21:02:35 | Logbook | Modify | To-Do | I have found that if I want to modify a logbook entry that is not shown in the normal display even if you click 'more' it doesn't bring up the other column items that you may have selected when doing the logbook layout. e.g. eQSL.sent / eQSL Rcvd. ü | 1.0 b1439 | 05/04/2007 06:29:45 | Logbook | Find | Done | With Find enabled in Quicklog, enter callsign and other data in ALE, lookup is performed as advertised. Add QSO to log, ALE resets, previously entered callsign is left in Find window, but no QSOs at all are displayed in Quicklog, even though I've just added the callsign to the log. Deselecting/selecting Find is required to get the QSOs redisplayed, and then all QSOs are displayed, not just the selected callsign's. Similar thing happens if you click Reset in ALE without adding the QSO. Also, the DM780 User Guide, page 28 indicates there should be an Apply Filter icon in the Quicklog toolbar, but there is none (icon). |
û | 1.0 b1438 | 04/04/2007 08:58:05 | Logbook | QRZ.com | To-Do | I use the same file for the HRD log as I do for the DM-780 log. If you log a station from the the DM-780 session, and the contact window is populated with QRZ.com data, the Address (and maybe other fields, I have not really checked) are not carried over into the HRD log. After refreshing the HRD log, the QSO shows up, but the Address information is not there. If you add the same call under the HRD log, the address is brought over from QRZ.com. |
û | 1.0 b1438 | 04/04/2007 06:12:04 | Logbook | Countries file | To-Do | This seems the right place to put this "bug" wich I don't know if it is from DM780 or QRZ.COM search engine. Here goes: when I search for my call within DM780 it shows me as result that i'm from the Azores, witch is not correct. This has allready happened with another program, Jlog by LA3HM, but he did correct the problem. Here goes the correct list of prefixes of Portugal, Madeira and Azores: Portugal CT0 - Club (repeater; beacon etc) CT1 - A Class (Extra) CT4 - A Class (Extra) Issued between 1978/1980 CT2 - B Class (General/Advanced) CT5 - C Class (Novice) Only V/UHF Madeira CT3 - Madeira & Porto Santo Islands Azores CU1 - Santa Maria Island CU2 - São Miguel Island CU3 - Terceira Island CU4 - Graciosa Island CU5 - São Jorge Island CU6 - Pico Island CU7 - Faial Island CU8 - Flores Island CU9 - Corvo Island Hope this helps! û | 1.0 b1437 | 03/04/2007 09:12:53 | Logbook | Synchronisation | To-Do | I use the same logbook files for HRD as I use for DM-780. If you add a QSO in the log using DM-780, it does not show up in the HRD log until you hit refresh, or vice-versa. It would be nice for the program to automatically refresh the other companion program's logbook (if they are the same file) when a QSO is entered. That way the logs will stay in sync. |
û | 1.0 b1436 | 02/04/2007 20:39:14 | Locators | Bearing, Distance | To-Do | When adding Callsign to ALE make sure locator found via QRZ.com or Logbook is sent to Locator toolbar. Ditto Callsign Lookup window. |

ü | 1.0 b1434 | 31/03/2007 11:03:59 | Logbook | Worked Status | Done | Hi all... I noticed that when I worked a station the bar in the superbrowser still displays the not-worked status if it's still displayed. The worked status is there when the bar with that station appears again. Maybe an idea to update this status when the record is added to the logbook. |
û | 1.0 b1434 | 31/03/2007 09:52:36 | Logbook | Split Frequency | To-Do | I suggested this before, but dont recall any feedback, and it is not in the tracking log, but I thought it worthwhile to bring it up again. I believe that a really useful feature to have in HRD is for the logbook to automatically figure out if the rig is in "split" mode, and if it is, to record both the TX and the RX frequency. This is useful for the following reasons: 1) The logbook currently only picks up the frequency at the moment that you hit the "Add" button, and legally (at least the way it used to be in the USA when we had to keep logs) was that we had to record our TX frequency. I think most people would make the contact then hit the Add button when the contact is over, logging the RX frequency 2) When working DX, it is essential to have the TX and RX frequencies recorded particularly when working one end of the band to the other (like last weekend's WPX contest on 40 meters where the DX station is at 7.050 and we americans are transmitting to him on 7.225. Right now, I put a hand written note (QSX 7.225) in the notes field. As a solution, the program could either have a dedicated TX frequency field, use one of the user programmable fields, or just append the TX frequency to the beginning of the notes field. I wonder how HRD records frequencies when logging for Satellite operation. I have not tried it yet, but I wonder if the logbook would record the frequency uncorrected for doppler (I think this would be best) or the doppler corrected frequency (which really does not mean much as it changes by the moment). û | 1.0 b1433 | 30/03/2007 20:32:06 | Logbook | Columns | To-Do | This may have been requested by someone else regarding an eariler build, but there's no harm in posting it here. Show the same columns in the Quick Log display as the Main Logbook display. The Layout button on the Main Logbook's Toolbar permits Users to add columns for display in the Main Logbook, and also has Move Up and Move Dn buttons to arrange the order in which the columns appear. The column headings may also be dragged to reorder their display from left to right. In my case, I chose to add Bearing and Distance, and arranged the Column positioning to my liking. The Quick Logbook also permits dragging and dropping of the column headings to reorder the display of the columns from left to right. However, the fields added to the Main Logbook do not appear on the QuickLog. There is no Layout button in the Toolbar of the QuickLog, and no way currently to add desired fields to the QucikLog. :( As the QuickLog (on my screen) is generously sized for width there would be plenty of room for a layout button on the QuickLog's toolbar! Additonally, a checkbox in the Layout Dialog of the Main Logbook could be offered so users could enable the feature to have the same Main Logbook columns be shown in the Quick Logbook. Ideally, the display of fields in the two "views" should be independently configurable for the users, so that the Main logbook could show as much as users wished, and the QuickLog could be independently configued to show just what the Users wished, even in the QuickLog pane were resized to be very narrow. |
û | 1.0 b1423 | 20/03/2007 14:02:26 | Logbook | Frequency | To-Do | Sorry if this is a known issue but I couldn't find it anywhere. About 30% of the time the frequency is logged as 0 in the logfile. As I am transmitting in the BPSK-31 window I notice that sometimes the frequency gets set to 0 in the 'add log entry' box. At the same time the frequency indicator at the top of the screen changes to 'no radio'. It will usually recover, but if it hasn't recovered by the time the log entry is written it will write a 0 into the logfile. I assume what is happening is that during transmit dm780 sometimes has a problem talking to the radio and resets the frequency to 0. Maybe a better algorithm would be to leave the frequency in the 'add log entry' box at the last known value if it can't communicate with the radio?? |
